Playoff season is upon us and I am excited to share that we have two golfers and our volleyball team set to compete in CCS starting this Saturday. Eva Denten '23 and Jaylyn Remolona '24 are heading to Laguna Seca Golf Course on Tuesday November 1st. Both golfers qualified on an at large berth, shooting 77 and 78 in our league championships.
The Volleyball team finished tied for 2nd place in WBAL standings. There is not an easy match through league and finishing with a 6-4 record is quite an accomplishment. The finish earned the team an automatic berth and they will begin their playoffs on Saturday October 29th at Gonzalez High School. Participating in playoffs is a tremendous accomplishment for our athletes, coaches, and families. Not to mention I am very proud to be their athletic director!
On Monday Mercy sent 6 golfers to the WBAL Championships held at Sunnyvale Municipal Course. Each golfer scored better than their average. Eva Denten '23 had the low score of the day for the team of 77, beating her average by nearly 15 strokes. Not far behind was Jaylyn Remolona '24 with 78, 4 strokes under her average. Scarlet Fritz '25 recorded a 95 and Jessica Coco '24 had 100. Madison Yao '26 and Kayli Huang '25 finished with 112 and 115. The team ended up with 5th place overall and finished with an 8-8 record.
