Next week is our annual Dig Pink Volleyball game and GAA Leadership has been working hard to prepare for the evening. One of the more exciting responsibilities they are tasked with is designing the Pink Week Shirt, and I have to say this year I think they hit it out of the park! Over the summer I held a meeting with GAA Leadership where we set our goals for the year and started to brainstorm for the night. It is great to see all of their thoughts come to fruition. The Dig Pink game is part of our Breast Cancer Awareness month at Mercy in which students and faculty promote breast health and cancer awareness and raise money to contribute to the research. Our Pink Week will take place later in October and includes participation from all fall sports teams, with pink grips for tennis, pink golf balls, pink headgear for water polo and pink headbands and sweatbands for cross country. The Dig Pink game is always a highlight because it brings together a large part of our community for a great cause. Our spirit squads will be out leading cheers and dancing on timeouts. The volleyball parents organize a concession stand, and many of our faculty will be in the stands and working also.
