On Tuesday Mercy hosted their first game of the season against ICA. Mercy successfully ran the offense the first few times down the court with great ball movement. Their passes spread the defense out and eventually left open lanes for Katie Callagy '23 to drive to the basket. After an early lead the team put the pressure on with a full court press catching ICA off guard. As the first half wore on Mercy continued to grow the lead 25-4. ICA could not keep pace and found themselves in foul trouble early in the 2nd quarter. With a 25 point lead around the half, the team settled in for the second half rotating everyone in. Mercy opened the season with a 54-25 point victory. 

On Thursday Mercy slayed the Dragons of Design Tech. Mercy's starting 5 again came out and put pressure on the Dragons and were able to take a lead early and not look back. While the Dragons remained close for the first half Mercy started to pull away in the third quarter. Anani Perez '26 lead all scorers with 20 points. Mercy won 43-29.
