Throughout the month of October, our teams come together to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness. This month, our athletes have been proudly sporting pink uniforms and accessories to raise awareness for this important cause.
Our Golf team teed off, donning pink polos on the course throughout October. The Water Polo team made a splash by hosting the Sister Splash Game, featuring pink caps and balls. On the tennis court, the team sported pink grips in their final match of the season. It's not just about the games; it's about coming together as a community to support the fight against breast cancer. After the final hole is played, the last whistle blown, and the last serve made, our community gathers for a special rally to reflect and celebrate our collective efforts.
Kicking off the rally, our Girls Athletic Association Leadership Team (GAA) has been hard at work, decorating and welcoming everyone to the event. They kickstart the rally with informative facts about Breast Cancer, raising awareness and understanding. The highlight of the rally is when students and faculty members step up to donate their hair to Locks of Love, a gesture that embodies the spirit of giving and support. Preparations for our month-long celebrations begin as early as August when our GAA Leadership Team starts designing the official T-shirt for the month. With the T-shirts sales, donations from attendance and proceeds from the snack shack at the Dig Pink Volleyball game, we are thrilled to announce that we have donated 3,500 to the Susan G Komen Fund.
