I always emphasize that there is a home for everyone in Mercy Athletics and I genuinely stand by that belief. This past week has been a shining example, with many of our young athletes stepping onto the field or track for the first time. On Friday, freshman Belfie Lee '27 made her debut in lacrosse, and her impact was immediate. In the second half, when she was subbed in, she swiftly scored a goal, marking a memorable start to her journey.
On Saturday, our Track and Field Team kicked off their season with nearly half of the team experiencing their first meet. Our community embraces athletes at every level, providing opportunities to explore new sports and talents. While some sports demand prior experience for competitive play, Mercy still fosters an environment where students can step out of their comfort zones and strive for excellence.
This aligns perfectly with one of our core values: Educational Courage. When students, regardless of experience, take the leap to try out for a sport, they not only embark on a new adventure but also challenge themselves to unlock their full potential. At Mercy, we celebrate this spirit of courage and growth both on and off the field.
