We made it through a warm one this week and it required flexibility from our athletes, coaches, and their families. Athletics was set for a full schedule even with temperatures rising to nearly triple digits. Games were postponed and practices shortened all with the safety of our athletes at the forefront of every decision. I realize these changes required our families to be flexible with pick up and drop off times and I appreciate the adjustments. While temperatures heated up around the region our Volleyball teams are bringing the heat inside the Serra Gymnasium literally and figuratively. The Junior Varsity and Varsity teams have not dropped a set in this current home stand. During those afternoons and evenings spent in the gym I get acquainted with the families in our programs. While I see many familiar faces of parents in the stands, this year I am meeting the brothers and sisters of our athletes. These brothers supported their sisters and our teams and even helped with the clean up at the end of the night. Mercy Athletics really is a family affair and I am grateful for the community we have, not only at Mercy but in our Tri School.
