On Monday Mercy battled it out with Burlingame High School in a game that featured many familiar faces on the field and in the stands. The teams exchanged runs but Burlingame found some holes and sped around the bases. Jazlyn Villavicencio '24 was the top performer recording 3 hits and 2 RBI's. However it wasn't enough to overcome the bats of Burlingame with Mercy losing 10-5. On Tuesday the team headed south to take on Pioneer High School. A slugfest early on with Pioneer taking an early lead and Mercy surging back. Elena Gonzalez '25 was top at the plate for Mercy with 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Victoria Saenz '25, Dylan Sainz '25, Aveline Anderson '27, and Jazlyn Villavicencio '24 all recorded 2 hits each. On Friday night Mercy softball headed to Half Moon Bay to take on the Cougars. The game was back and forth early on with both teams scoring early and often. Jazlyn Villavicencio '24 and Aveline Anderson '27 each had 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Elena Gonzalez '25 had 2 hits with 3 RBI's. With the game all tied up heading into the 6th inning the Bears had an offensive explosion. A few timely walks and key hits and the team batted around the line up and added 10 runs to finish the game 16-6 victory.
