On Saturday the Mercy Track and Field Team traveled to Stagg High School in Stockton to compete in the Lauren DK Pettis Invitational. The Bears had by far their best day of the young season. The team posted 20 Personal Bests, 13 Season bests and set 2 School Records. In the Varsity division the Bears were only entered in 8 events on the day and won 5 of them and had one 2nd place finish. In the JV Division the team scored in all 13 of their entered events picking up four 1st, two 2nd & four 3rd place finishes on their way to winning the JV Team Title! In the 100mh Sydney Domingo '26 broke her own School Record from last year breaking the 16 second barrier posting a 15.99. In both the Varsity 4X 100 and 800m Sprint Medley the team of Gemma Nikravesh '25, Nicole Williams '25, Sydney Domingo '26 and Mika Taira '25 won. Kaia Stormont '25 won the 300mh and set a 4 second PR with a 51.47. In the 400m Bailey Collins '25 finished 2nd and with a PR. The team of Mika Taira '25, Susie Guz '27, Kaia Stormont '27 and Nicole Williams '25 won the 4X400. In the JV events the Bears also won many events starting with the 4x100m Throwers Relay the team of Emma Ortiz '25, Emma Murphy '26, Dulce Martinez '27 and Tianna Kruse '26 set the School Record with a mark of 1:25.65. Ysabella Matsumoto '25 won the 800M. In the 800m Sprint Medley Maddie Branzuela '26, Dalilah Sanchez '25, Rita Kardouh '27, and Juliana Formolo '27. The 4x400 JV Relay team of Juliana Formolo '27, Isabella Webb '26, MJ Krienke '27 and Christina Crespo '26 were also victorious. In the JV Long Jump Rita Kardouh '27 placed 3rd with a 12’ 7” and a PR. In the Triple Jump Dalilah Sanchez '25 finished 2nd with a 23'10" and Marina Giuntoli '25 finished 3rd with a jump of 23'3".
